Kota, August 23, 2025 – The School of Agricultural Sciences (SOAS), Career Point University, concluded its week-long Parthenium Eradication Campaign on Saturday, marking a significant step in community-driven environmental protection. The initiative, conducted from 18th to 23rd August, was organized under the guidelines of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) to address the threat posed by the invasive Parthenium weed.

The program began with an awareness lecture by Dr. Vineet Dheer, Assistant Professor, Department of Agronomy, who explained the harmful impact of Parthenium on agriculture, soil health, biodiversity, and human well-being. His session set the tone for a week of impactful activities.

Throughout the campaign, students and faculty volunteers worked tirelessly to clear Parthenium weeds from different areas of the CPU campus. Extending their efforts to the community, the team also adopted the nearby village of Kasar, where they carried out eradication drives to help restore its natural ecosystem.

The initiative was conducted under the leadership of Dr. Dheerendra Singh, Extension Officer, and Dr. Ratnakar Pathak, NSS Coordinator. In the closing ceremony, volunteers were awarded certificates in recognition of their dedicated contribution to environmental conservation.

The success of the campaign highlighted Career Point University’s continued commitment to sustainability, social responsibility, and student-driven community engagement.
